Before:
HHA had 50 standalone desktop machines unable to communicate
with each other. Email and web access was through
a handful of dialup accounts. They use a legacy system
on an Alpha server that is accessed through terminal emulation.
After:
• Our wiring team connected offices between
the basement and 8th floor of a high rise building. HP 4000M
switches were used to create a 300Mb trunk between the two
floors.
• SDSL access to the internet was provided by Zyan
Communications.
•
We installed a Compaq Proliant ML series server using a
RAID 5 array.
•
A UPS and back up solution was also provided.
•
Netware 5 was used for file and print services
GroupWise 5.5. for E-Mail, calendaring and group scheduling.
•
BorderManager was implemented for as a proxy server for
web acceleration.
•
Zen Works V2 was deployed to manage and self heal applications,
remote control desktops and provide inventory control.
•
A Centralized Fax solution was installed enabling users
to send and receive faxes from the desktop.
•
On-site support and post installation training was
provided as part of the contract.A Future agency management
system will be installed to replace the Alpha server.
It will run Windows NT and be managed through the existing
directory services.
